August is Black Business Month, a time to acknowledge the contributions and growth of Black-owned businesses across the nation. In celebration, Capital B Gary is publishing a series of stories highlighting businesses, business owners and entrepreneurs in the city.
Black Business Month was established in 2004 by historian John William Templeton and engineer Frederick E. Jordan to advance policies affecting more than 2 million Black-owned businesses and promote greater economic freedom for the Black community, according to America250.
