The Common Council will see a shakeup as a Democratic caucus selects a new 4th District representative, following Council President Tai Adkins’ move to Calumet Township Trustee — with a council vote to name a new president to follow. Meanwhile, residents are uniting against House Bill 1136, which threatens to dissolve the Gary School Corporation and convert all public schools to charters.
